For those looking to get outdoors or get some exercise, check out the Lafayette reservoir!
This is a very popular area for running/hiking, birding, fishing, and road biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. There is a trail that is open year-round and goes around the perimeter of the reservoir - about a 3 mile loop.
Check out Headlands Brewing - a recommendation from local and bridesmaid Bridget Banuelos.
The Lafayette taproom features a 20-tap floating draught tower, two outdoor patios with fire pits, and family and dog friendly landscaping.
If you're staying a few extra days and venturing into the city, a trip to Alcatraz might be warranted!
Alcatraz was the site of the first lighthouse in the Western United States but became a federal penitentiary from 1934 to 1963, housing famous convicts such as Al Capone and George "Machine Gun" Kelly. Now, this once infamous prison island is part of the Bay Area’s 80,000-acre Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Located one-and-a-half miles from Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz is one of the city's most popular attractions. A visit to the island includes a tour of the cell house where visitors can see how the prisoners lived.
